What makes Privvy different from traditional dental insurance?

Privvy is not insurance. When you join a membership your fees cover some or all preventive care like cleanings, X-rays and checkups. Should you need additional care, such as a filling, you simply pay your dentist on a fee-for-service basis. Most dentists will provide member discounts on those additional fee-for-service procedures!

No deductibles, no annual maximums, no claims. And you always get to stick with your favorite dentist- the same can't be said with dental insurance if your dentist decides to opt out of their network.

Why use Privvy instead of dental insurance?

Costs of dental care are predictable and not catastrophic for most people. Within this context, where you know you won't need to insure against astronomical bills, it makes financial sense to purchase a membership directly with your dentist. And you won't need to deal with the complexities and hassles introduced by dental insurance, like annual coverage maximums, claims and the possibility that your dentist opts out of your insurance plan's network.

Who can join Privvy?

Anyone seeking affordable and quality dental care can join Privvy! You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Privvy is great for individuals, families and employers.

Can I add members to my account?

Absolutely! Your entire family can join.

What if I need to see a specialist?

Specialists are coming soon to Privvy! In the interim, your dentist will be happy to refer you to a trusted Specialist as needed.

How does membership billing work?

Your first membership fee is billed immediately upon enrolling. If your membership has a yearly fee, then the first charge is your only charge for the year. If your membership has a monthly fee, then you’ll be charged on a monthly basis for the next eleven months. Unless you discontinue your membership, it will automatically renew on your enrollment date anniversary.

Can I transfer my membership to another dentist?

Your membership is solely with your dentist and as such is non-transferrable. If you move to another area, you may discontinue your membership.

If I discontinue my membership, can I get a refund?

Membership fees are not refundable, unless your situation is covered under the refund policy. Refunds are not provided for any other circumstance, including failure to schedule and maintain appointments.

How do I discontinue my membership?

Sign in to your Privvy account and click the “Discontinue” button for each member you’d like to discontinue.
